in/Visible

This is a small selection of images from a show that was held at the Common Gallery in Presque Isle, Maine in June of 2024. This was a multi-year, semi-collaborative project that involved interviewing and photographing the regional LGBTQ+ community. I discussed concepts of belonging and body sovereignty with participants and made portraits inspired by their stories. The exhibit included community participation in the form of writing statements of belonging on index cards that were posted on the gallery walls, in relationship to the prints. This project was supported in part by a Kindling Fund grant.
